Tech Session: Engine Rebuild Part I: Saturday, January 16, 2010

We have two Triumph engines for rebuilding at these Tech Sessions, from a Spitfire 1500 and a TR3A. The first Session begins with Breakfast at Golden Boys Diner in the Village of Webster at 8:00AM. We’ll adjourn to Bill Rampe’s garage, 476 Whiting Road in Webster for a 9:00 start. At Session I, we’ll tear down these engines and examine and measure for wear. Several members have preregistered for this event and the class size should be kept small, so let George Haynes know of your interest soon. 595-872-6536. There is a $10.00 fee per session. In February, we’ll reassemble after required machining and purchase of new parts.

GRTTC Holiday Party

Jack’s Place on the Golf Course in Durand Eastman Park. This is most easily reached from Lakeshore Blvd, from east or west. Price is $20.00 per person, with reservations and checks to GRTTC sent to Treasurer Craig Carey at 4 Wenlock Road, Fairport, NY 14450. Final day for reservations is one week prior, January 2, 2010.

The Great John Macartney NYS Ride!

Monday July 27, Cindy and I left home around 12:30 PM in Percy (our TR6) and headed east on Rt. 5&20. We stopped at the Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce to finalize our September 27th brunch run plans. Since a cousin of mine that I had not seen in 5 years lived close by in Marcellus, we popped over for a brief visit at her lovely home. Following that, we got back on Rt. 20 and headed east. It was the first time Percy had tackled the "Seven Hills of Rome" which are located near Pompey. Piece of cake for him! After a deliciious meal in Cazenovia, we again headed east toward Richfield Springs. I'm telling you all that it is the most leisurely stretch of Rt. 20. Absolutely no traffic and we just cruised right along. We spotted John and Uncle Jack outside the Barstow House in W. Winfield. Naturally, we pulled into the driveway and had a nice but brief chat with John before pressing on to Richfield Springs. The next morning after picking up John, it was a delightful early morning cruise to Cazenovia where Bev & George joined us and it was on to Auburn where Kathy & Bill joined us. In spite of Beverly's careful planning timewise, we were only 12 minutes late in arriving at the Avon Tom Wahl's where we were royally greeting by a few members of the GRTTC and the MGCC. In all, a great ride and the very good weather was a big factor!

Fal Foliage Luncheon - Multi-club Meet at Letchworth State Park

Fall Foliage Luncheon at the Glen Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park. In conjunction with the British Car Club of WNY, Buffalo Jaguar Club, and the British Car Club of Ontario. Lunch is at 11:30, and GRTTC will conduct a tour down for our members to the Glen Iris.Time to be announced. To attend, please send check for $15.25 per person to: Eileen Kramer, 7790 Moyer Rd. GTRRC General Meeting/Run to Orbaker's in Williamson NY

We'll gather at 5:00 pm at the main parking lot of Webster Park at the corner of Holt and Lake Roads in Webster, then take scenic Lake Road to Orbakers Restaurant on Rt 104 in Williamson. After dinner we'll have our monthly meeting - outside weather permitting.

UK Car Day Sign Making Party

Location: Bill Rampe's house at 476 Whiting Road in Webster 14580. Materials will be provided - we just need some willing hands to help make the signs needed for our August car show. We'll be starting at 10:00 am.

Meet at Stickley's parking lot at Eastview Mall in Victor at 5:00 pm , take a scenic drive to Bob & Ruth's Restaurant in Naples, followed by dinner and short meeting.

Jaguar Club Tech Session Harwood Automotive in Victor

BOCES #1 Autoshop, O'Connor Road (off Whitney Rd) Fairport
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Coffee and Donuts available.
6 lifts will be available to GRTTC club members.

Bring your hand tools, replacement parts and shop manual. $5.00 per car fee to offset BOCES staff costs. Call George to RSVP or sign-up on the website. We will schedule the lifts if necessary. Please give George an idea of the types of projects you would like to take on, and if you are willing to lend technical advice to newer car owners.

GRTTC General Meeting & UK Car Day Site Preview

We’ll be meeting at the UK Car Day Show site in Genesee Valley Park at 5:30 PM to preview the location of our August event. At 6:00 PM we will convene to the nearby Elmwood Inn for dinner (to be confirmed), with the meeting to start at 7:00 PM or so. Directions to the Riverbend Pavilion can be found at UKCarDay.com.

The British Return to Fort Meigs

Come join the Lake Erie British Car Club for the 11th annual "The British Return to Fort Meigs" British Car and Bike Show, located at the Fort Meigs Historical Site, Route 65, Perrysburg, Ohio. While you show your car, you can take a tour of a restored fort from the War of 1812, try a challenging British car quiz, shop at one of the vendors, or sample some tasty delights from one of the food vendors. Car Show - British Car Club Of Western New York - Eurocar Day 2009

GRTTC Caravan will be leaving the KMart/Tim Horton Plaza in Chili on 6/14 at 9:00 am sharp! The K-Mart plaza is on 810 Paul Road and Tim Hortons is on
802 Paul Road. This actually closer to Chili Avenue. Basically, these
places are on the intersection of Paul Road and Chili Avenue. We will be
in the parking lot closer to Tim Hortons rather than the K-mart.
Be advised that there are two Tim Hortons on Chili Avenue - we will meet at the
